THE RULES
1. Pick quarterfinalists, semifinalists, finalists, and champions for both ATP and WTA draws. You will receive 7.5 points for each correct quarterfinalist, 5 points for each correct semifinalist and finalist, and 20 points for each correct champion. (Rafa's rule is in effect; picking Nadal as champ will only get you 10 points if he wins).
2. SUBSTITUTE PICK: Pick a player from each draw to replace one of your quarterfinalists. If this player makes the quarters, they will take the place of whomever you picked in that section of the draw
3. BIGGEST LOSER: pick the highest seed that will lose in the earliest round from each draw. The player must be a top-16 seed. You get 5 points if your seed is the highest to lose and 2 points if your seed falls in the same round as the highest seed to lose.
BONUS PICKS
1. GO, MAID MARION: Which round will Marion Bartoli make before she loses? Pick the correct choice and you will get 2 bonus points.
EXTRAS
***Unseeded quarterfinalists are worth an extra half point for every seed they take out en route.
***WTF bonus: if you have a pick that makes it to the quarterfinals that no one else made (not even as a substitute pick), you'll gain an extra 5 points for it. If there are only two contestants, then the WTF bonus is not in effect.

Well, Berdych and Petrova are our biggest losers. Why do I pick Petrova for anything?

What a fun match between Gulbis and Monfils. I'm a little gutted that Gulbis lost it, particularly since Monfils saved a break point at 5-all in the third set with a chip backhand that hit the top of the net and rolled over, the only possibly way he could have won the point since Gulbis was right there to put the volley away.
Overall, though, it was a deserved win for Monfils. He played the big points a little better, backing up his beautiful win against an in-form Berdych. I had a real shot to win the Tennis Channel contest if Gulbis had gone to the final because I already was in the top 200. Now I have no chance to finish in the top 2000, and he was playing well enough to go deep in the tournament. He has everything but speed on the court, and his return of serve is sick. I liked his matchup with Berdych better than with Monfils, who kept making him hit multiple winners and goaded him into errors with his buggy-whip forehand. Those same shots would have all been winners against Berdych.

I think Kuznetsova has a decent chance of upsetting Serena. I also think that in the battle of the second string Spaniards (Robredo v. Ferrer) that Robredo will pull out the win. Why make reasonable predictions at this point?
I somehow knew that Gasquet was going to blow a two set lead (again). I had little faith that he'd manage to pull it out. More fight from him than seen in the past, yes, but still not enough to win.

Zero for two. And now Federer is out, so Tsonga should beat Ferrer and make it to his second Slam final.

I won't be surprised if Tsonga wins, but you vastly underrate Ferrer. He's no second-string anything. He's a terrific player with a much bigger forehand than anyone gives him credit for. He should have had match point against Nadal in one of those clay event last month.
He's not as talented as the big four, but he's much more than a grinder. Watch how many of Tsonga's serves he gets back in play. Tsonga will have to outhit him off the ground to win becaue he won't get it done on his serve alone.

Just to get it on the record, Djokovic in four over Nadal. The keys will be how many free points Djokovic wins on his serve, either by Nadal not returning them or Djokovic getting an easy putaway on the next shot, and Nadal's ability to hit passing shots. In his three clay losses to the Djoker, he was surprisingly average on passes he normally makes.

The results! They're as lopsided as the men's final was.
#1 funches - 137.5
#2 Forehand_lob - 85
Congratulations, funches! I think the funches slam is on for this year.
